Biography

Artist Hayley Nacey works predominantly in oil paints, creating highly detailed paintings from her home studio in Wellington.

Hayley has a Bachelor of Visual Arts majoring in Graphic Design and a Graduate Diploma in Secondary Teaching (Visual Arts). She worked as a secondary school Art educator for 10 years, before returning to focus on her painting practice.

Artist’s Statement

My paintings linger on transience, grounded in quiet perception and stillness. I'm drawn to the way light can hold a fleeting moment, as time seems briefly suspended.

I draw on the quiet spaces of our family home. Shaped by memory and nostalgia, my paintings evoke a contemplative atmosphere, inviting viewers to pause and reflect.
